Purpose before form.

Product decisions get made in the builder's chair: how do we build this?

I got here from the writer's chair, so I sit down one question earlier: who is this for, and what problem does it solve? That's why my first move is usually the structure, not the screen.

Projects I owned end to end. Each card is the argument in brief. The case study has the decisions.

Before and after: the record used to open straight into an editable form; now it opens read-only by default, with edit as an explicit action

The read-only state we'd all skipped

Testing docs for features I didn't own, I caught an edit-mode default the whole team had accepted - mine included - and made view-first a componentized pattern.

Turning 500+ error messages into one system

Handed a dirty export, I walked the whole product to verify context, then built one framework: what happened, why, what to do, and shipped it as Figma components. 35% fewer support tickets where it launched.

Splitting one UX-copy skill into two: designers say 'review my copies,' never 'write,' so the UX review skill got adopted and self-served while UX writing stayed my own tool; support docs sat separate with 2 PMs. Adoption is drawn before the first prompt.

Two Claude skills instead of one

The obvious build was one skill with a mode toggle. I split it into two, named for how designers already ask ("review my copies," never "write"), because adoption follows language, not tool quality.

Products nobody asked me to look at, walked by hand until something gave. Every claim here is measured, sourced, or marked as untested.

The question the product won't answer I spent a day inside ElevenLabs asking the same thing at every tool: what is this going to cost me? The documentation and the interface gave different answers, and the usage tooling that would settle it sits on the developer side of the product. ElevenLabs, 2026. AI audio, pricing. She joined as a content writer and grew into a strong product designer, and that content background continues to inform her design work, giving her a clarity of thinking that many designers lack.

She consistently delivered high-quality work despite shifting requirements and tight timelines, and embraced next-gen AI tools early, building resources that helped the whole team move faster.
